Objective of the Conference

The main objective of the conference is:

• Discussing digital economy issues with a focus on its relationship to achieving sustainable development.
• Discussing global and regional experiences to enhance the roles of the digital economy in support of sustainable development
• Introduce alternatives, priorities, and policies to develop the roles of the digital economy in Egypt to support sustainable development.

Conference Themes

The research papers to be presented at the conference and its seminars deal with one of the following issues, whether in application in Egypt, or through the presentation of regional and international experiences, on both the macro and sectoral levels:

First theme: the role of the digital economy in promoting the sustainable development goals in light of global and regional experiences

• The role of the digital economy in promoting the areas of production, especially in agriculture and industry.
• The role of the digital economy in promoting the services field, including government administration services, education services, health, social protection and financial services (especially financial inclusion).
• The role of the digital economy in transforming some of informal sector to formal sector.
• The role of the digital economy in stimulating scientific research and technological innovation.
• The role of the digital economy in combating financial and administrative corruption.
• The role of the digital economy in crisis management and prevention.

Second theme: requirements and challenges of the transition to the digital economy in light of global and regional experiences

• Policies and mechanisms to qualify appropriate human resources to the digital economy roles.
• Policies and mechanisms for sustainable investment and financing, providing the necessary infrastructure, and entrepreneurial initiatives and emerging projects for the transition to the digital economy.
• Legislative, institutional and regulatory requirements for the transition to the digital economy.
• The challenges and transformations that lie ahead for the workforce in the context of the transition to the digital economy.

Third theme: digital economy in Egypt - reality, the target and ways to reach it

• Current and future states of the digital economy in Egypt within the framework of Egypt's vision 2030 - main indicators, options, priorities and the desired developmental impact.
• The role of the government in the process of transformation of the digital economy - creating and enabling and stimulating environments in cooperation with the private sector and civil society as well as regional and international cooperation.
• Supporting the innovation and development of appropriate national digital technology and products.
• The role of entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises in supporting the transformation to digital economy.
• Spreading social awareness and general knowledge in support of the rational transformation towards a digital economy
